Agona East Imam Urges Grassroots Support to Secure 2028 Victory

Mankrong-Junction (C/R), March 20, GNA – The Agona East District Chief Imam, Alhaji Jabiru Ibrahim, has urged government appointees to prioritise the needs of grassroots supporters to help retain power in the 2028 general elections.

According to him, many grassroots members were struggling and complaining about neglect.

Alhaji Jabiru made the call while addressing Muslims during Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at Mankrong-Junction in the Agona East District of the Central Region.

“It is easier to go into opposition than to return to power,” he cautioned.

The District Chief Imam said President Mahama was performing well in the administration of the country, but noted that some appointees were doing a great disservice to both the government and the party.

He, therefore, appealed to the President to impress upon his appointees to work harder and take better care of the party’s base.

Alhaji Jabiru further stated that the government under President Mahama had addressed the economic challenges inherited from the previous administration.

He noted that the cost of goods had reduced significantly this year compared to previous years.

The Chief Imam also urged Muslim youth to uphold the principles and values of Ramadan to attain spiritual growth.

He cautioned them against the consumption of alcohol and hard drugs, stressing the need to safeguard their health.

Expressing concern over the increasing use of narcotic substances among some Muslim youth, he called on Islamic leaders to intensify campaigns against drug abuse.

He further urged Ghanaian Muslims to pray for peace and stability amid tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, noting that global peace was essential for economic and trade growth.

Alhaji Jabiru also called on Muslims in Gulf countries to unite and remain steadfast in support of efforts to ensure the security and safety of people in the region.
