Afife (V/R), Feb. 13, GNA – Mr Ignatius Amaglo, Ketu North Municipal Director of NHIS, says the team will join the 2026 Afife Annual Nyigbla Festival to provide special registration services for residents and patrons.

The outreach will run from February 12 to 14 at the Afife EP Primary School, from 0800 to 2000 hours daily.

Mr Amaglo said the initiative aims to bring NHIS services closer to the people and enable residents to register, renew, replace, or update their membership details. A special feature will be the issuance of linked NHIS and Ghana Cards for pupils aged six to 14 years. He urged residents to visit the team with their Ghana Cards to access the services.

Meanwhile, the NHIS has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting persons living with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), describing February as a month of compassion in action.

The Scheme said its recent support to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund reflected empathetic leadership and a resolve to ensure no Ghanaian with NCDs was left behind. The gesture, it noted, would ease the burden on patients and families and restore hope to those battling chronic conditions.

The NHIS called on institutions, organisations and individuals to support persons living with NCDs, stressing that “it takes a community to save a community,” and urged practical demonstrations of love towards vulnerable Ghanaians.
