Accra, Jan. 31, GNA – The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Saturday expressed satisfaction with the conduct of security personnel and the overall smoothness of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary.

He said the process, so far, had been peaceful and well-coordinated, expressing confidence that the exercise would continue smoothly until its conclusion.

“From what I see, it’s the same thing I’ve said. It shows that everything is going on smoothly, and we hope that it will be like this to the end,” he stated.

When asked whether he was excited about the conduct of the police officers and other security personnel deployed for the exercise, the IGP simply responded; “Happy.”

He added that the goal was to ensure a positive overall experience, particularly in terms of security relations.

“That is the way we want it to go, so that at the end of the day, we have a very good experience in security relations,” he noted.

Mr Yohuno made these remarks during a visit to the Dansoman Police Polling Station in the Ablekuma West Constituency, where he went to personally assess the security situation and the ongoing voting process in the NPP presidential primary.

His visit forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s efforts to monitor the exercise nationwide and ensure a peaceful, transparent, and incident-free process.
