Kadjebi (O/R), June 27, GNA – Football enthusiasts in Kadjebi in the Oti Region have expressed confidence that Ghana’s Black Stars will defeat Croatia in their crucial FIFA World Cup Group Stage match scheduled for Saturday.
Speaking in separate pre-match interviews with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Friday, the fans expressed confidence that the Black Stars would secure the victory needed to boost their chances of progressing to the next stage of the tournament.
Ms Valeria Doh, a football enthusiast, predicted a narrow 1-0 victory for Ghana, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to overcome the Croatians despite declining to name the likely goalscorer.
“I believe the Black Stars will score one and win the match,” she said.
Mr Edwin Akwensi, another football fan, shared a similar view, saying victory was imperative if Ghana was to enhance its qualification prospects.
“A win is a must for Ghana. The players must remain focused and determined throughout the game,” he said.
Mr Gershon Amedo, another football enthusiast, said Ghana’s qualification scenario would largely depend on the outcome of the Cape Verde versus Saudi Arabia match.
“In principle, Ghana is almost through, but the result of the Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia game could change the dynamics,” he said.
He explained that if the match ended in a draw, Ghana would have a more comfortable path to qualification and could rest key players such as Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo.
“However, if there is no draw, then coach should field experienced players like Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo to ensure a convincing victory,” he added.
Unlike the other supporters, Mr Amedo predicted a 1-1 draw between Ghana and Croatia but remained hopeful that the Black Stars would eventually qualify for the next round.
The Black Stars are expected to face Croatia in a decisive encounter as they seek to book a place in the knockout stage of the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
