Keta NPP faithful commend presidential aspirants for signing peace pact ahead of primaries

Keta (VR), Jan 24, GNA – Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) faithful in Keta constituency of the Volta Region, have commended and congratulated the five presidential aspirants who have signed the peace pact ahead of the party’s primaries.  

The signing of the peace pact, which took place on Thursday, January 22, was seen as a significant step towards ensuring a peaceful and harmonious election process. 

Mr Seth Kwashie Tettey, a party supporter, told the Ghana News Agency, that the five aspirants who signed the peace pact are expected to abide by the agreements which would promote peaceful competition and acceptance of the outcome of the election.  

“The flagbearer election will be held in various constituency centres across the country, and we are happy about the signing of the peace pact ahead of the elections to promote peace and understanding afterwards,” he said.  

He stressed that the Keta constituency is one of the many constituencies where the primaries would be held, and all-party faithful are eager to see a peaceful and transparent process while the signing of the peace pact was a clear testament to the party’s commitment to democracy. 

He said that the aspirants who signed the peace pact have shown their commitment to the party’s values and principles and have set a good example for other aspirants to follow in subsequent elections. 

“The move is an important activity that outlines the principles and guidelines for a peaceful election. It will provide the aspirants to respect the party’s constitution and rules, and to accept the outcome of the election.” 

Madam Adzo Makple, another party faithful described the signing of the peace pact as a welcomed opportunity which showed maturity and commitment to democracy by the aspirants and hoped that the election would be peaceful, and that the winner would emerge with a clear mandate. 

She said that the National Executive Committee of the party has been emphasising the importance of peace and stability during the election period, and the signing of the peace pact by the aspirants was a step in the right direction. 

The aspirants who signed the peace pact have shown their willingness to work together for the good of the party while their actions demonstrated a positive sign for the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections as well as 2028 general elections. 

The Keta NPP faithful are grateful to the aspirants and viewed the move as a commitment to the party’s values and principles. 

They believed the primaries are an important step towards the party’s preparations for the 2028 general elections. The peace pact was a positive development that would promote peace and stability in the party. 

Meanwhile, a total of 671 delegates in the Keta Constituency would exercise their franchise at Vodza R.C basic school premises on Saturday, January 31, to elect among aspirants such as Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in the upcoming NPP presidential.
