Akatsi (VR), Jan 30, GNA-Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament of Akatsi South and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, has sent a stern warning to some individuals attempting to sow disaffection and division between him and Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive for the area.
He said such attempts would retard development, urging those championing that agenda to desist, “since it cannot see the light of day because I have moved with the MCE since our youthful days.”
Mr Ahiafor, who was part of a delegation comprising Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, Mr Daniel Dagba, Heads of Decentralised Department in Akatsi South, and others, gave the caution during the commencement of a 2-day sod cutting and projects inspection ceremony across the Akatsi South Constituency.
The projects, according to Mr Ahaifor, which focused on health and education infrastructure, when completed, would improve access to quality education and healthcare for all residents in Akatsi South.
He reiterated his commitment to lobby for support and funds for other pending projects, adding that stalled projects such as the Akatsi South Municipal Hospital and other abandoned road and electrification projects have received positive signals for work to recommence on them to their completion.

Mr Ahiafor further assured the chiefs and people who witnessed the events that the Mahama-led government would continue to bring unprecedented developments to all spheres of society, making it difficult for the opposition New Patriotic Party to return to power.
Mr Gunu, on his part, revealed that the Volta Region required a total of 460 CHPS compounds but currently has 207, leaving a gap of 253.
“Under the Mahama-led government, a minimum of two CHPS compounds per District, totaling at least 36, are expected to be commissioned by the end of the year.”
He emphasised that the government would ensure all projects would receive the needed allocation of funds before any sod is cut.
“This government is not the 419-type like others who would deceive Ghanaians for their white elephant projects.”
Mr Gunu also appealed to all stakeholders within the designated project communities to adhere to strict monitoring and supervision for the timely execution of the projects.
The team earlier made their first stop at Ahlepedo, where the construction of a CHPS Compound with nurses’ accommodation is ongoing.
Other project sites visited include the ongoing construction of a 3-unit classroom block with an office and store at Wodome, a CHPS Compound with nurses’ accommodation at Zuta, and a six-unit classroom block with an office, staff common room, and library at Zuta.
The rest are a six-unit classroom block with an office, staff common room, and library at Duowodome, a two-unit Kindergarten block with an office and store at Dzuepe, and the renovation of Wute Health Centre.
The delegation was thrilled about most of the projects that had unofficially started and would be completed soon.
The exercise would continue Friday, January 30 where some school infrastructure projects that are under construction and those yet to start, would be inspected and sod would be cut.
