Ho (V/R), June 23, GNA – Mr Siki Abibu, Volta Regional Political Coordinator, has commenced the second phase of an inspection tour across selected districts in the Volta Region to assess the progress of ongoing and completed government-funded projects.

The exercise, which covered the South Tongu, Akatsi South and Adaklu districts as well as the Ho Municipality, formed part of efforts to monitor the implementation of projects under the government’s development agenda.

Mr Abibu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the tour was intended to evaluate the quality of work, ensure projects were progressing according to schedule and identify challenges requiring immediate attention.

The inspection began in the South Tongu District, where the team assessed the 9.7-kilometre Gonu Junction-Sokladzi Junction Road project being executed by Bedrock Ventures, with about 6.9 kilometers already completed.

The coordinator also visited several educational projects funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), including a completed three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Hlevi D/A Basic School and a two-unit kindergarten block at Aglokpovia, both awaiting official handover as part of government legacy projects.

He further inspected a three-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Lakpo, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and executed by Ezitec Building and Construction.

At St Catherine Senior High School at Agbakofe, he assessed the construction of an assembly hall by Kadna Engineering and a two-storey dormitory project being undertaken by FEKIOP Limited. Both projects are expected to be completed by November 2026.

In the Akatsi South District, accompanied by the District Chief Executive, Mr Daniel Dagba, the Coordinator, inspected several educational and infrastructure projects.

These included the Police Commander’s Bungalow at Akatsi, an abandoned project initiated in 2017 and completed in 2025, and a 12-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Akatsi Senior High Technical School.

The classroom project also benefited from the donation of 2,000 pieces of furniture by the Member of Parliament, Mr Bernard Ahiafor, and was completed in 2025 after being abandoned by the previous administration.

Other projects inspected included a boys’ dormitory with a capacity for about 312 students, a two-bedroom semi-detached staff accommodation facility at Akatsi Senior High School being constructed by Tonnynam Construction Company, and a kindergarten block at Zuta that was revived and completed as a legacy project.

The coordinator also inspected a six-unit classroom block and a nurses’ bungalow funded through the DACF, as well as the 28-kilometre Akatsi-Ave Dakpa road project being executed by Timeline and Innovations Limited.

The road project commenced in April 2025 and is expected to be completed by November 2027.

Other projects included a three-bedroom self-contained nurses’ quarters built by Chris Works and completed in July 2025, and the 32-kilometre Abuadi Junction-Toda-Keyime road project being executed by Rolider Construction.

The road project began in March 2025 and is expected to be completed by December 2027.

At Gbekor Senior High School, the Coordinator assessed several ongoing projects, including a three-bedroom bungalow for the Headmaster, a staff bungalow at the substructure stage, a completed school canteen, and a GETFund-funded dining hall complex and sanitary facility.

He also inspected the Adaklu Kodiabe Road, which has seen significant improvements after years of being inaccessible to motorists.

Additional projects visited included a three-unit teachers’ bungalow at Adaklu Kodiabe and sanitation facilities at the Adaklu Waya Animal Market.

The final leg of the tour took place in the Ho Municipality in the company of the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Stephen Adom, and technical officers from the Assembly.

Projects inspected included the proposed site for the 24-hour market at Ho-Tritrinu, a six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Ho-Kpenoe, and the seven-kilometre Tanyigbe-Dzakpe Junction Road project being undertaken by Bumencon Investment Limited.

At Tanyigbe Senior High School, the Coordinator assessed an administration block abandoned at about 65 per cent completion and later completed in April 2025 as a legacy project.

He also inspected a four-unit teachers’ bungalow funded by GETFund, which had been abandoned since 2016 before being completed and commissioned in 2025, as well as a completed dining hall facility.

The team further visited a six-unit classroom block at Ho-Nyive, funded through the DACF and currently about 50 per cent complete.
