Accra, Dec. 29, GNA – The Kumasi Evangel Choir-Ghana has embarked on a five-nation concert tour across Europe and Asia to commence its anniversary celebrations.
A statement shared with the Ghana News Agency said the tour, featuring Ghanaian choral music, began in Vienna, Austria, where the choir participated in the Sounds of the Basilica Concert on December 17, 2025, at the St Joseph Kirche.
It was followed by a concert in Prague, Czech Republic, where the group performed alongside the Russian Soul Choir.
The choir later held concerts in Hamburg and Berlin, Germany, before concluding the European leg in Poland.
The statement said that a section of the choir also toured various states in the United States of America for separate concerts during the same period.
Dr Albert Adusei Dua, Director of the Choir, said the tour was the group’s second international engagement in 2025, following an earlier European tour in July.
“This is our second tour this year after an earlier one in July. There is a global audience for choral music, and as one of Ghana’s leading choirs, we arranged these tours to open Europe and Asia to Ghanaian choral music,” he said.

Dr Dua explained that the initiative was also aimed at creating partnership opportunities for the choir and the broader Ghanaian choral music industry.
“We want to create opportunities for partnership not only for the Kumasi Evangel Choir, but for other groups in the industry as a whole,” he said.
The choir was established in 2012 under the name Celestial Evangel Choir-Ghana by professionals united by a passion for choral music.
In 2022, it rebranded as Kumasi Evangel Choir-Ghana to reflect its roots and cultural identity.
Since its formation, the choir has supported children with cancer in Ghana.
It has, since 2014, made annual donations to the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to assist with treatment and medication needs.
The statement said the choir would launch activities to mark its 15th anniversary in 2026, with a series of events planned to celebrate its contribution to choral music.
A major highlight will be a launch concert featuring gospel musician Diana Hamilton.
