Dambai (O/R), June 13, GNA – The Christian Assembly Church has held its annual District Youth Camp at Kparekpare in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, with a call on young people to become ambassadors of peace, discipline, and national development.

The camp attracted scores of youths from various congregations within the district and featured prayer sessions, Bible studies, leadership training, and other spiritual activities aimed at strengthening participants’ faith and moral values.

As part of the programme, the youth embarked on a peace procession through the principal streets of Kparekpare. Dressed in white and pink T-shirts and wearing identification tags, the participants sang gospel songs, danced, and played musical instruments while spreading messages of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.

Mr Sampson Dorla, District Youth Leader of the Christian Assembly Church, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the youth camp forms part of a series of activities scheduled to be held three times within the district.

He explained that the maiden edition was organised in 2025, the second session is currently taking place at Kparekpare, and the final session is expected to be held at Tokuroano in October 2026.

Mr James Anane Kinagwin, Senior Pastor of the Christian Assembly Church and the church’s National Youth Leader, urged the youth to shun social vices and channel their energies into productive ventures that would contribute positively to society.

“The youth are the future of the church and the nation. We must nurture a generation that fears God, respects authority, and promotes peace and development in our communities,” he said.

Mr Kinagwin commended the traditional authorities and residents of Kparekpare for their support and hospitality, which contributed to the successful organisation of the camp.

Some participants, including Madam Peace Manu and Mr Maxwell Amanyo, expressed appreciation to the church leadership for organising the camp, describing it as spiritually enriching, educational, and impactful.

The District Youth Camp is an annual programme of the Christian Assembly Church aimed at promoting fellowship, discipleship, leadership development, and community service among young members of the church.
