Kasseh-Ada, Dec. 19, GNA – Jetse Abram Kabu Akuaku III, the Paramount Chief of the Ada Traditional Area and President of the Ada Traditional Council, has urged community chiefs within the area to ensure that their stools are properly gazetted to secure full legal recognition.
The Paramount Chief said gazetting would make chiefs legally eligible to adjudicate cases within their traditional jurisdictions without facing contemptuous challenges.
He made the call through Nomo Jonathan Dorkutso, the Secretary to the Paramountcy, when he chaired an end-of-year gathering organised by the Ada Community Chiefs Association to plan activities for the coming year.
Jetse Akuaku III commended the chiefs for coming together to pursue a common cause, describing the move as timely and necessary to promote unity and development in their respective communities and the Ada State as a whole.
He also encouraged chiefs who had been installed but were yet to formally introduce themselves to the Paramountcy to do so without delay, saying such introductions were essential for recognition and institutional backing.
According to him, completing the traditional and administrative processes would legitimise their authority and strengthen the chieftaincy institution.
The Paramount Chief further urged the chiefs to promote peace and stability in their communities, noting that sustainable development could only thrive in a peaceful environment.
He also advised the association to expand its membership by involving other community chiefs within the Ada State, as well as their stool fathers.
“Bring other community chiefs within Ada into the association, including your stool fathers. They are the ones who install you, and their involvement will help them understand your challenges and progress as chiefs,” he said.
At the meeting, members of the association presented a citation to the Paramount Chief in appreciation of his continuous support and leadership.
Part of the citation read: “Your visionary leadership has strengthened the cultural heritage of our people and elevated the Ada identity on both national and international platforms. Your advocacy for education, youth empowerment and community advancement continues to inspire generations and foster pride among the sons and daughters of Ada.”
