Dambai (O/R), July 9, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all its members across the country to actively participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise declared by the President John Dramani Mahama, on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, who urged members at all levels of the party to support the exercise as part of efforts to promote environmental sanitation, civic responsibility and national development.

According to the statement, the exercise presents an opportunity for party members to contribute to keeping their communities clean while supporting the government’s campaign to improve sanitation standards across the country.

The statement explained that the NPP’s Constituency Executive Elections, scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, would not affect members’ participation in the cleaning exercise.

It said delegates and members were expected to join the sanitation exercise immediately after casting their ballots, noting that voting would be conducted on a walk-in basis to allow participants enough time to engage in both activities.

“The Party encourages all members to demonstrate their commitment to environmental cleanliness and community service by fully participating in the exercise,” the statement said.

The NPP noted that maintaining clean surroundings remained a shared responsibility and called on members to lead by example in promoting proper sanitation practices in their respective communities.

It said active participation in the nationwide exercise would not only help improve environmental conditions but also reinforce the values of volunteerism, community service and responsible citizenship.

The party reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote public health, environmental protection and sustainable national development, urging all members to respond positively to the directive and ensure the success of the exercise in their various constituencies.

The nationwide General Cleaning Exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to encourage public participation in improving sanitation and creating healthier communities throughout the country.
