Atebubu, (Bono East) July 9, GNA – A total of 1,467 of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Atebubu/Amantin in the Bono East Region are expected to cast their ballots in the party constituency executive elections on Saturday July 11.
The delegates comprise polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, former constituency executives, council of elders and patrons, a regional executive member, the former Member of Parliament and the former Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Chief Executive.
They would pick 11 constituency executives from the 38 candidates contesting the elections which would be held at the Atebubu Anglican Junior High School Park.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Atebubu, the constituency capital, Mr Alfred Antwi, the NPP’s Atebubu/Amantin Elections Committee Chairman said all was set for the elections.
He said three candidates were vying for the chairmanship position, four candidates contesting for the first vice chairmanship, three candidates for second vice chairmanship as well as four candidates for the secretary position.
Mr Antwi added that four candidates were vying for the deputy secretary position, three candidates for treasurer, three candidates for organizer and four candidates for youth organizer position.
Three candidates are contesting for women organizer, four candidates for the Nasara coordinator and three candidates for the communications director position.
Mr Antwi pledged the committee’s dedication to ensure a credible election to the satisfaction of the candidates and all stakeholders.
He urged the candidates and their following to conduct clean campaigns devoid of insults and personality attacks, saying that the party ought to be formidable for the Election 2028.
