Prof. Brenya, speaking to journalists after the announcement of his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama, noted that, this elevation was a testament to the profound impact of the scholarship fund established by the Asantehene to support needy but brilliant students in Asanteman and Ghana.

The Otumfuo scholarship scheme has bestowed educational opportunities upon over 20,000 individuals, empowering them to realise their academic aspirations and forge successful careers.

Many of the beneficiaries of the scheme have gained influential roles across diverse sectors, including education, law, and politics.

Prof. Brenya emphasised that Otumfuo’s vision for education had not only transformed his own life but had also significantly contributed to the broader development of Ghana.

He underscored that education, as a pivotal driver of progress, was vividly illustrated in the remarkable accomplishments of the scheme’s beneficiaries.

Among the other beneficiaries mentioned are Dr (Mrs) Mercy Badu, a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry at KNUST; Dr Bossman Asare, Deputy Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, and Dr Kingsley Antwi Boasiako, General Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority in Tema;

The rest are Justice Osei Tutu, an Appeals Court Judge; Mr Kofi Achinah, a Pharmacist at Nyaho Medical Center in Accra; and Mr Justice Brobbey, the Curator of the Manhyia Palace Museum.

The newly appointed Chairman of the KsTU Governing Council appealed to all, particularly past beneficiaries of the Otumfuo Education Fund, to support the current Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation in furthering the vision of His Royal Majesty.

He expressed profound gratitude to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for facilitating his personal aspirations and extended his thanks to President John Dramani Mahama and the Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, for the appointment.

He pledged to diligently work towards advancing the development of KsTU in alignment with the President’s resetting agenda.
