āAssemblies of God, Ghana, deeply condoles with families of Ghanaians and other nationals who lost their loved ones and profoundly sympathises with those whose properties were destroyed in the horrendous floods,ā the statement said.
It noted that the recurring disasters highlighted the urgent need for political commitment and practical measures to reduce the devastating impact of flooding across the country.
According to the statement, the upcoming clean-up exercise represented an opportunity for Ghanaians to demonstrate their determination to reverse the trend and promote a culture of environmental cleanliness and sanitation.
āIn view of this, Assemblies of God, Ghana, asks all its pastors, members and other faith-based groups to actively join the clean-up exercises in their communities,ā it stated.
The church emphasised that faith should not be limited to private devotion but must also be reflected in actions that positively impact society.
It urged Christians and all citizens to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit rather than an activity reserved for occasional exercises.
The statement further called on believers to demonstrate environmental stewardship as part of their Christian witness, stressing that good works should inspire others and glorify God.
