Former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister raises red flag on mode of distributing Fertilizer

Accra, July 9, GNA- Mr Abu K Kansangbata, a former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister has raised red flags on the current mode of distributing free Fertilizer in the country.

He alleged that Farmers who needed it to ramp up their farming activities were relegated to the background, while National Democratic Congress branch executives were placed at the helm of distribution.

Mr Kansangbata, a former NDC Deputy Minister said channelling the distribution through party executives would stifle the government’s agricultural agenda and impoverish Farmers especially in the rural areas.

He called on the government to reconsider the distribution plan to ensure equity among Farmers.

Agriculture , he added was the backbone of the country and therefore leaving Fertilizer distribution in the hands of party executives would create disunity and lower the image of government in the eyes of Ghanaians.
