Kpassa (O/R), Nov. 27, GNA – Mr Isaiah Kudjo Dordoe, the District Chief Executive of Nkwanta North, in the Oti Region, has handed over ten waste bins to the District Environmental Health Office, (DEHO) to be distributed across the district as part of the Assembly’s quest to tackle sanitation issues in the district.

The DCE said the items formed part of the government’s resetting agenda as part of the district assembly common fund to help tackle sanitation issues in the area.

He also indicated that proper sanitation was a core mandate of the assembly and, therefore, charged the sanitation unit to encourage citizens on the need to keep the environment clean.

The DCE called on the public to dispose of their waste properly into the bins at the designated mounted areas.

Mr Samuel Gyamena, the Nkwanta North District Coordinator, reiterated the assembly’s commitment towards improving sanitation in the district by keeping the area clean.

He added that a beautiful home was a healthy person, and for that matter, citizens must attach such importance to their daily activities.

Mr Alhassan Abubakar, presiding member of the Nkwanta North District Assembly, thanked the leadership of the district for such an initiative that he believed would go a long way in tackling issues of sanitation in the area.
