Hamburg, Nov 10, (dpa/GNA) – German police said on Monday, they had detained a man suspected of threatening and injuring several passengers on a train in northern Germany.
The suspect allegedly threatened a passenger with a knife and stole his rucksack, on the regional train bound for the Baltic coast city of Stralsund on Sunday evening, the police said in a statement.
He is also accused of punching a woman who filmed the incident twice in the face, and hitting another woman.
The man left the train in Jatznick, where police later identified and detained a 30-year-old man, matching the description given by witnesses.
Police said the man was already known to them, and was wanted for resisting officers in a previous case.
While in custody, the man reportedly went on a rampage in his cell. Several drugs were later found there, including methamphetamine and cocaine.
He was provisionally arrested and transferred to a forensic clinic. He is under investigation for aggravated robbery and bodily harm.
