Let’s unite and prioritise community development — Chief

By Nana Kwame Essel

Twifo Asamoakurom (C/R), Nov 12, GNA – Nana Oboaman Ansah Apenteng Asamoah II, Chief of Asamoakurom, has urged his fellow chiefs to unite and focus on community development rather than resorting to litigation.

He stated that no one would take lands and landed property over to their graves and so it was imperative that they prioritised peace, unity, and progress to better the lives of their people.

Nana Oboaman who is also the Gyaasehene of the Atti-Morkwa Traditional Area in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, made the call during a durbar which followed the installation of seven sub-chiefs for the Area.

Nana Oboaman called on his people to support the construction of an events center in Asamoakurom to boost development and create space for community activities.

The Queen Mother of Asamoakurom, Nana Oye Siawbea II, also appealed to the youth, particularly those living outside Asamoakurom to support the initiative.

Nana Siawbea who is also the Gyaasehemaa of Atti-Morkwa Traditional Area, called on the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Yawson, to assist with materials needed for the construction of the events center.

Some community members   appealed for a factory to be constructed in the Area to help create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

They urged the government to also provide them with good roads, schools and other social amenities to stop the youth from travelling to the cities, but stay to assist in the development of the town.
