Nutekpor (VR), Nov. 12, GNA – The Naval Training Command (NAVTRAC) at Nutekpor in the Volta Region has held a church service at the School of Maritime Operations (SMOPS) Auditorium to induct Commodore (Cdre) James Adongo Agambire as the new Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) NAVTRAC and Seven Garrison Commander.
The solemn ceremony, held on the theme “Inspiring Excellence through Humble Leadership and Team Synergy,” was attended by senior military officers, traditional leaders, government officials, and personnel of the Ghana Navy.
Brigadier General Benjamin Kumi-Woode, the Director General of Religious Affairs (DGRA), in a sermon, highlighted that effective leadership was grounded in humility, integrity, and teamwork.
He encouraged personnel to uphold the virtues to promote harmony and excellence in the discharge of their duties.
Mr Francis Ahlijah, who represented the Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Mr Kwame Governs Agbodza, as the Guest of Honour congratulated Cdre Agambire on his assumption of command and commended the Ghana Navy for its continuous contribution to national peace and development.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to improving access roads leading to the Command to enhance mobility, logistics, and personnel welfare.
Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, also commended the Ghana Navy for establishing the Command in the region, noting that it aligned with the government’s broader vision of promoting the sustainable use of the Volta Lake and advancing development along the Volta Economic Corridor.
He pledged that his office would work collaboratively with the Command to enhance security in the region.


Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, the Member of Parliament of South Tongu, expressed confidence in Cdre Agambire’s leadership qualities, describing him as a humble and committed officer.
He encouraged him to continue prioritising personnel welfare, strengthening civil-military relations, and fostering cooperation with other security agencies for the safety and development of communities within the command area.
Cdre Agambire, in his response, expressed appreciation to the Naval Headquarters and personnel of the Command for their trust and support.
He pledged to lead with humility and dedication while inspiring excellence and teamwork across all units of NAVTRAC and 7 Garrison.
He also called for corporate support to achieve this goal.
