Ellembelle MP donates two pick-up vans, motor bikes to police service and Assembly

Aiyinasi (W/R), Nov. 03, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle has presented two pick-up vehicles to the Ellembelle District Assembly and the Ghana Police Service, to equip them to deliver on their core mandate. 

The District Assembly, in addition, received a tricycle and four motor bikes from the MP.  

Making the presentation at a colourful ceremony at Aiyinasi, in the Western Region, Mr Armah-Kofi Buah, who is also the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, realised the urgent need to resource the Ghana Police Service with logistics as part of retooling the service, to provide maximum security in the area. 

The MP said in the last 18 years, the Ghana Police Service in the Ellembelle District had received three pick-ups from the office of the MP. 

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah said the fundamental key to development was peace and development and stressed the need to retool the police service to effectively perform that function. 

He charged the Assembly to put the brand-new pick-up van to good use to spearhead its work. 

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah said he would partner with the government to provide the needed logistics to institutions in the Ellembelle District to work effectively. 

Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ellembelle, said the donation of the vehicles to the Ghana Police Service and the District Assembly, would enhance service delivery in the communities. 

Nana Etwe Kpanyinli III, the Chief of Aiyinasi acknowledged the move by the government to open a new police station in the northernmost part of Aiyinasi, to maintain peace, law and order and expand the police station at Aiyinasi. 

He called on all to rally behind the government to bring development to the area. 

Nana Kpanyinli reminded the people that “after elections, Ellembelle stands united, focused on pushing for development.” 

He called on traditional authorities in Ellembelle to unite and allow peace to prevail to bring development to the area.
