Adaklu Waya (V/R), Oct. 11, GNA – Madam Judith Makafui Kuagbonu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Adaklu District Directorate of Education Friday has praised the Gbekor Senior High School (SHS), for emerging as the top-ranked school in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) tracking system.
She said the school, which is in the Volta Region, has shown that commitment, collaboration and consistency could turn limitations into success.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to what dedication, teamwork and perseverance can yield even in the face of challenges,” she said.
Mad. Kuagbonu stated this in a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency in reaction to the success chalked by the Gbekor SHS located at Adaklu Abuadi/Tsriefe in the 2025 WAEC tracking system.
The school surpassed all the renowned SHSs in the region including OLA Girls, Mawuli, Bishop Herman, St. Paul’s and St. Mary’s.
Mad. Kuagbonu said this milestone should serve as a wakeup call and inspiration to all other schools in the district adding “providing that excellence is achievable regardless of one’s location or available resources.”
She added that several factors could be attributed to this outstanding success, including the commitment and hard work of the teachers of the school in achieving this feat, which she said could not be glossed over.
“Despite the limited resources, they continued to demonstrate professionalism, creativity and sacrifice in ensuring that teaching and learning remain effective.
“The discipline, determination and resilience of the students have also played a major role,” Mad. Kuagbonu noted.
She stated that their willingness to learn, coupled with focus and perseverance, had brought honour to not only the school but the whole of the Adaklu District.
The PRO also recognised the support of parents, the local community, the District Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament for Adaklu and the Headmaster of Adaklu SHS, their sister school.
She intimated that their continuous encouragements and contributions had provided motivation and a sense of belonging to both teachers and students.
Mad. Kuagbonu also praised the headmaster and the management team of the school in fostering unity, academic focus and discipline among staff and students which she noted had equally been vital.
She urged the teachers to continue giving their best whilst advising the students to remain disciplined and focused so as to “sustain the momentum and maintain this enviable position and aim at national honours.”
She called on parents to keep supporting their wards and schools and entreated all stakeholders to work together to overcome the challenges facing education in the district.
She used the opportunity to congratulate the school for inscribing the name of Adaklu in gold at the educational level in the Volta region.
