Manso Adubia (Ash), Aug. 22, GNA – Authorities of the Manso Adubia Senior High School in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have appealed to government, stakeholders and old students to construct a teachers’ bungalows for the school.

The absence of teachers’ accommodation facilities has become a major challenge to effective academic work.

Mr. Peter Acquah, Assistant Headmaster of the school, told journalists that, most teachers are forced to commute from their various places of residence, which were far from the school, to attend classes.

This often resulted in lateness for school and affected the smooth running of lessons.

Mr. Acquah stated: “Sometimes our teachers come late because they live far away.

“If we had bungalows here for them, they would stay on campus and have enough time for us.” The provision of bungalows on campus would not only motivate teachers, but would also strengthen discipline, supervision, and the overall academic performance of the school.

Mr. Acquah described the situation as urgent and appealed to past students of Manso Adubia SHS to remember their alma mater and support in providing the needed infrastructure to raise the standard of the school.

He also called on the government and development partners to take swift action.

He pointed out that, accommodation for teachers was an essential requirement for the growth of every second-cycle institution, particularly one like Manso Adubia SHS, which continued to see an increase in student enrolment.

Mr. Acquah further noted that, while the school community was doing its best to support, the scale of infrastructure needed goes beyond their capacity, hence the need for external intervention.

The appeal comes at a time when many second-cycle institutions across the country are struggling with infrastructural challenges, ranging from inadequate dormitories, dining halls, science laboratories, and sick bays.
