Asiedu Nketiah is a great mentor, father and strategist -Minister

Accra, May 29, GNA – Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has paid a glowing tribute to Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for his immeasurable contribution towards shaping his political career. 
 
Recollecting his early days in politics, Mr Ibrahim, also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Banda Constituency in the Bono Region, described Mr Nketiah Nketia mentor and guide and expressed appreciation to him. 
 
The Minister gave the commendation when speaking at a thanksgiving service held in honour of him at the Church of Pentecost, Sophia Cudjoe Temple, Sakumono District in Accra. 
 
“I will not be standing here today as an MP and Minister without the consistent mentorship and leadership of Chairman Asiedu Nketiah,  adding, “he has been a political father, a strategist, and a pillar of support throughout my political life”. 
 
Mr Ibrahim stated that, “his encouragement and practical advice has helped deepen my understanding of grassroots politicking and effective representation”. 
 
“Besides Mr Nketiah also played a personal role in shaping my life, imbibing in me discipline, political maturity and a service-oriented mindset,” he stated. 
 
“In fact, Mr Nketiah saw the potential in me in my boyhood days, when I was young and inexperienced and he did not just advise me from afar, but also walked with me, even when the journey was rough and I will forever be grateful to him,” Mr Ibrahim added. 
 
The MP called on upcoming politicians to seek mentorship and value loyalty, commitment, and consistency in their service to the nation. 
 
Apostle Wilberforce Nkrumah Agyemang, the Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Teshie-Nungua, underscored the need to push for transformational leadership in the country, saying leaders ought to be capable of achieving extraordinary feats, breaking new grounds, and setting records that stood the test of time. 
 
He cautioned that “a single misstep by a leader can have dire consequences for the wider population” and urged the citizenry to always pray for God to raise visionary leaders, who could steer the affairs of the people with courage, clarity, and conviction, even in difficult times.
