Energy Commission commits to fostering creative, innovative mindset of the youth-Executive Secretary

Bechem, (Ahafo), May 29, GNA-Mrs Eunice Biritwum, the Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission, has stressed the commission’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in building the mindset of the youth. 
 
She said the Commission was achieving that through the implementation of its flagship Renewable Energy Challenge among Senior High Schools, seeking to bridge the gap between academia and industry. 
 
Mrs Biritwum said this in a speech read on her behalf by Mr Julius Nkansah-Nyarko, the Senior Manager, Renewable Energy Regulation of the Energy Commission during the sixth edition of the Challenge held at the Bechem Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region. 
 
It was on the theme: “Sustainability for a Healthy Future” and organized by the Commission with support from Ghana Education Service (GES), and the Ghana TVET Service. 
 
The challenge centered on food security, waste management and health delivery and the participating schools were PRESEC, Bechem Technical Institute, Acherensua SHS, Mim SHS, and the Yamfo Technical Institute. 
 
Others were the Serwaa Kesse SHS, Gyedu Technical Institute, Boakye Tromo SHTS, OLA Girls SHS and Ahafoman SHS. 
 
Mrs Nancy Arthur, the Headmistress of the Bechem PRESEC, commended the Energy Commission and its partners for the challenge and congratulated the schools for their participation.
