I believe my party leadership will not move from established Precedence-Faidoo

Sekondi, Jan. 21, GNA – Mr Fredrick Faidoo, a two-time contestant for the Takoradi constituency Parliamentary seat, has expressed hope that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party will not sway from nominating a Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) from the Sekondi-Takoradi area.

He said, over the years, the party had given the MCE mandate to individuals who had contested as Members of Parliament (MP) on the party’s ticket and lost and hoped that this regime’s appointment would not be different.

Mr Faidoo said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after subjecting himself for vetting for the position of the MCE of Sekondi-Takoradi, at the Party’s Regional Office in Sekondi.

The Vetting process had seen some 135 persons vying for the 14 positions within the 14 districts of the Region.

Mr Faidoo, a Lawyer, noted that in the previous years, Mr Marlon, Captain Cudjoe and Abbot were all given MCE positions after contesting once, “I have gone twice and my performance also unprecedented, so I believe the principle and precedent must apply to me”.

As a pioneer member of the party, Mr Faidoo contributed immensely both legally and socio-politically to the growth of the NDC in the Western Region.

He said, when given the nod, he would work with stakeholders to fix many challenges within the metropolis.
