Sunyani, (Bono), Oct, 23, GNA- The Bono Regional office of the Legal Aid Commission says it has amicably resolved about 70 percent of civil cases in the Region through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Mr Eric Brobbey, the Bono Regional Head of the Commission told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Sunyani that the office received approximately 1,000 cases annually, saying that about 90 percent of those cases were civil.
He said the commission remained dedicated to providing legal assistance to the members of the public, adding that it had six offices spread across the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions.
In a separate interview, Mr Ato Assan, the ADR Officer attached to the Bono Regional Office of the Commission, asked the members of the public to opt for ADR in settling civil cases.
He said the Legal Aid office was established to support members of the public to seek justice; however, added that using ADR for dispute resolution remained essential too.
