‎Accra, Oct. 23, GNA – Magvlyn Industries Limited, producers of Mobile Water, has marked three decades of operations, highlighting its contribution to the development of Ghana’s sachet water industry since 1996.

‎

‎

‎Mr Magnus Nunoo, Chief Executive Officer of Magvlyn Industries, said the company was established to provide affordable and reliable drinking water as an alternative to the communal cup system.

‎

‎

‎He said this at the company’s 30th anniversary celebration in Accra, attended by regulators, franchisees, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders in the water manufacturing industry.

‎

‎

‎Mr Nunoo said drinking water was commonly sold in cups shared among several people before sachet water was introduced, adding that his interest in the business developed after he observed a similar innovation in Nigeria.

‎

‎

‎Recognising the commercial potential of sachet water, he said he ventured into the business in 1996, becoming one of the pioneers in packaged drinking water production in Ghana.

‎

‎

‎Mr Nunoo said establishing Mobile Water required him to resign from a secure and promising career with one of the country’s leading oil marketing companies to pursue his business vision.

‎

‎

‎He said the company’s achievements had received recognition from prominent figures, including President John Dramani Mahama, who mentioned the company during a State of the Nation Address.

‎

‎

‎As part of the anniversary celebration, Mr Nunoo unveiled a new corporate identity for Magvlyn Industries Limited and Mobile Water, describing the new logo as a reflection of the company’s history, resilience and future ambitions.

‎

‎

‎“The logo honours our past, reflects the resilience that has carried us through the years and points to a future of sustainability, quality and innovation,” he said.

‎

‎

‎Mr Anthony Boateng, Board Chairman of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Water Research Institute, commended the company for sustaining its operations in a challenging business environment.

‎

‎

‎He said businesses in Ghana faced several operating challenges, including financial constraints, energy difficulties, regulatory hurdles, bureaucratic inefficiencies and changing business conditions.

‎

‎

‎Mr Boateng said navigating such challenges required resilience, ingenuity and adaptability, praising the management and staff of Mobile Water for maintaining the company’s relevance in the industry for three decades.
