Accra, July 7, GNA – Rotary International District 9104 has inducted Dr Jack Andrews Dotsey as District Governor and Mr Kingdom Kededor Avisseh as District Rotaract Representative for the 2026-2027 Rotary year.

The ceremony, held at The Premier Event Centre of the University of Ghana, Legon, brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, past district leaders, development partners and guests from Ghana and abroad.

In their inaugural addresses, Dr Dotsey and Mr Avisseh reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening service delivery, expanding youth leadership opportunities and deepening collaboration among Rotary and Rotaract clubs nationwide.

Dr Dotsey, a member of the Rotary Club of Accra, pledged to build on the achievements of previous administrations by enhancing community service initiatives and fostering partnerships to address social and developmental challenges.

He said Rotary’s mission in the 2026–2027 year would centre on creating sustainable and measurable impact through service projects, membership growth, youth development and strengthened partnerships.

“Rotary must move beyond activities to delivering lasting solutions to community challenges,” he said.

Mr Avisseh said Rotaract would continue to champion youth-led solutions to community problems through innovation, leadership development and volunteer service.

He pledged to focus on sustainable community-led projects, mentorship, membership growth and fostering a sense of belonging among members.

“The organisation’s success will be measured by the positive change it creates in communities,” he said.

The event also unveiled key priorities for the Rotary year, including literacy promotion, malaria eradication, youth peacebuilding, cultural heritage preservation and humanitarian advocacy.

Delivering the keynote address, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, highlighted the importance of collaborative leadership and strategic partnerships in achieving sustainable national development.

She commended Rotary for its sustained contribution to national development and urged institutions to embrace the principles embodied in Rotary’s Four-Way Test of truth, fairness, goodwill and mutual benefit.

Rotary International is a global service organisation comprising more than 1.4 million members who undertake projects aimed at promoting peace, fighting disease, supporting education, protecting the environment and strengthening communities.
