Kadjebi (O/R), July 12, GNA – Dr Frank Yirenkyi, an aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Oti Regional Chairman position, has described the party’s Constituency Executives’ Elections held on Saturday as transparent, peaceful and fair.
He commended delegates, electoral officials and party members for their responsible conduct before, during and after the elections, saying their orderly behaviour contributed significantly to the successful exercise.
Dr Yirenkyi made the remarks in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi after observing the electoral process in the Biakoye, Buem and Akan constituencies.
He said the elections were credible and demonstrated the democratic values of the NPP.
“The process itself has been transparent and fair. The delegates have been very active and have conducted themselves well throughout the exercise,” he said.
Dr Yirenkyi, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Biakoye Constituency in the 2024 General Election, expressed satisfaction with the level of organisation at the various voting centres and commended election officials for adhering to the party’s electoral guidelines.
He urged the newly elected constituency executives to work towards unity and reconciliation within the party, stressing that the elections should strengthen rather than divide the rank and file of the NPP.
According to him, the outcome of the elections should motivate party members to close their ranks and focus on rebuilding the party ahead of future political contests.
Dr Yirenkyi appealed to unsuccessful candidates to accept the outcome of the elections in good faith and support the newly elected executives to ensure effective grassroots mobilisation across the region.
He said the strength of the NPP depended on the collective efforts of its members and encouraged supporters to place the interest of the party above individual ambitions.
The Regional Chairman aspirant also thanked delegates for their commitment and participation despite heavy rains that affected some voting centres, describing their determination as a demonstration of dedication to the growth and development of the party.
Dr Yirenkyi expressed confidence that the newly elected constituency executives would work diligently to strengthen the party’s structures and improve its preparedness for future elections.
