Akan NPP Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organiser, Nasara Coordinator elected unopposed

Kadjebi (O/R), July 11, GNA –  Mr Rabiu Awale, Mr Merigah Abdul Sataru, Mr Ewormvor Richard Senyo, Mr Joseph Nana Oboako and Mr Alhassan Sam Shamoon have been elected unopposed as Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organiser and Nasara Coordinator respectively of the Akan Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the party’s Constituency Executive Elections at Kadjebi in the Oti Region. 

The election, being held at the Rashid Bawa Assembly Hall of the Kadjebi-Asato Senior High School (KASEC), is witnessing keen competition for the remaining executive positions, with delegates casting their ballots under tight security. 

A total of 1,012 delegates are expected to elect executives to steer the affairs of the party in the constituency for the next four years. 

The positions being contested are First Vice-Chairman, Second Vice-Chairman, Women’s Organiser, Treasurer, Youth Organiser and Communications Officer. 

For the First Vice-Chairman position, Messrs Noah Kwame Wadja and Francis Agorson are contesting, while Adams Mutawakil and Fati Iddrisu are battling for the Second Vice-Chairman slot. 

The Youth Organiser race is between Messrs Kelebe Paapa and Adams Nafiu. 

Madam Nyam Abena Bigornu and Madam Annatu Yussif are contesting the Women’s Organiser position. 

The Treasurer portfolio is being keenly contested by Mr Abubakar Sedick, Mrs Kwadade Cardigah Kafui and Mr Mashood Abiola Amusum. 

For the Communications Officer position, delegates are choosing between Mr Frank Adjei Worlanyo and Mr Mustapha Ahmed Diarra. 

Voting began after election officials completed the accreditation of delegates and explained the voting procedures to ensure a transparent and orderly process. 

Security personnel from the Ghana Police Service have been deployed to the venue to maintain law and order and ensure a peaceful electoral process. 

The atmosphere at the polling centre has remained generally calm, with delegates arriving steadily to exercise their franchise. 

Party supporters and observers were also present at the venue, expressing optimism that the election would strengthen the party’s structures ahead of future political activities in the constituency. 

Election officials indicated that counting of ballots would commence immediately after the close of polls, after which the winners of the various contested positions would be declared. 

The Constituency Executive Elections form part of the NPP’s nationwide exercise aimed at electing constituency officers to manage the affairs of the party and prepare it for future electoral contests.
