VFS Global bolsters applicant trust amid rising outbound travel demand

By Edward Dankwah

Accra, June 28, GNA – VFS Global has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, applicant protection and secure visa application services in Ghana as outbound travel demand continues to rise, particularly among students, families, corporate travellers and organised groups.

The assurance was given during a visit by the company’s Regional Leadership Team to Ghana, where officials engaged key media institutions to strengthen partnerships and promote public awareness on safe and reliable visa application processes.

The visit formed part of VFS Global’s stakeholder engagement strategy aimed at deepening collaboration with the media while reinforcing public confidence in its role as a trusted administrative partner to governments providing visa services.

Mr Prashant Kansara, Regional Head for Central and West Africa at VFS Global, said trust remained central to the visa application process and urged applicants to rely solely on official VFS Global channels for appointments and information.

He cautioned applicants against fraudsters and intermediaries who falsely promise early appointments, faster processing or guaranteed visa approvals in exchange for payment.

Mr Kansara emphasised that no individual or third party could influence visa decisions made by sovereign governments.

“Trust is central to the visa application experience. At VFS Global, our role is to provide applicants with a secure, transparent and well-managed administrative process on behalf of our client governments,” he said.

He encouraged residents in Ghana to use only official VFS Global channels, avoid intermediaries who make false promises, and plan their applications well in advance.

Mr Kansara explained that increasing visa application volumes across several destinations, especially during peak travel seasons, required applicants to submit their applications early while adhering strictly to official procedures and guidance.

To strengthen applicant protection, he said VFS Global continued to implement robust anti-fraud measures in Ghana.

These include OTP-based appointment booking, appointment verification, validation of application references, anti-fraud messaging, and controlled access to Visa Application Centres for applicants with valid appointments.

He advised applicants to verify all information through the company’s official website and communication channels, noting that fraudsters often misuse company names, logos, social media pages and unofficial telephone numbers to deceive unsuspecting travellers.

Mr Kansara further noted a significant rise in demand for organisedgroup booking services among students, educational institutions, education consultants, corporate organisations, sports teams, families and official delegations seeking coordinated visa submission arrangements.

He cited a testimonial from the Office of the Paramount Chief of the Gbese Traditional Area, the late Gbese Mantse, Nii (Dr) Ayi-Bonte II, Adonten of the Ga State, which commended VFS Global for its professionalism during visa processing for participants attending the first Gbese Mantse Homowo Festival and Business Summit in the Netherlands in September 2025.

The Palace praised the company’s mobile collection service, cultural sensitivity and professionalism, describing the experience as unprecedented for many members of the delegation.
