Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr David Amoah, the Constituency IT Coordinator of the party, called on polling station executives, who constitute the electoral college to embrace all the aspirants and accord each of them a fair hearing before making their choices.
He urged delegates to listen carefully to the campaign messages and examine the track record of the contestants and critically assess their visions, competence, commitment and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and fortunes of the party.
According to him, the NPP’s overriding objective is to recapture political power in the 2028 general elections and achieving that goal will require the election of competent and committed executives who are willing to sacrifice their time and resources to strengthen the party from the grassroots.
He said the constituency elections present an opportunity for the party to renew its leadership and energise its support base, adding that the quality of executives elected would significantly influence the party’s preparedness and competitiveness in future elections.
Mr Amoah expressed confidence that the elections would be conducted peacefully and transparently and appealed to all aspirants and their supporters to conduct their campaigns in an atmosphere of unity, mutual respect and party discipline.
He emphasised that regardless of the outcome of the elections, all party members would have a collective responsibility to work together, reconcile differences and strengthen the party’s structures at the polling station, electoral area and constituency levels to position the NPP strongly for electoral success in 2028.
“The elections should not divide us but rather serve as a platform to identify capable leaders who can unite the rank and file and drive the party’s rebuilding agenda. At the end of the day, the ultimate objective is to ensure that the NPP returns to power in 2028 through hard work, unity and effective grassroots mobilisation,” Mr Amoah added.
