Kumasi Aug. 14 GNA – The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) says Alhaji Sibamay Zakaria, who was seen in a viral video assaulting a suspect in police custody, is not a member of the Ghana Hajj Board and holds no official representational capacity for the office.
This clarification comes in response to reports and social media posts that had linked him to the Hajj Board, following his arrest by the police for assaulting a pastor, who is in police custody for making disparaging remarks on Prophet Mohammed.
A statement issued by the PAOG said the individual suspected of the assault acted solely on his own discretion and has no connection with PAOG and asked the public to disregard that.
