Dambai (O/R), June 15, GNA – Nana Soglo Alloh IV, President of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs, has expressed concern over the growing association of Nkwanta South Municipality with conflict-related discussions at the national level.
He said the recurring disturbances in the municipality had attracted widespread attention and underscored the need for renewed efforts by all stakeholders to promote peace and stability.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nana Alloh IV noted that Nkwanta was increasingly being cited in conversations on conflict-prone areas in the country, a development he described as worrying.
“In Ghana today, when discussions arise about areas experiencing recurring conflicts, Nkwanta is increasingly being mentioned alongside places such as Bawku. This should be a concern to all of us and calls for urgent collective action,” he added.
The President of the House observed that the situation had implications for social cohesion, development, and the image of the region, stressing the need for unity among all residents.
“We must work together to restore peace, strengthen unity and protect the reputation of Nkwanta South. Sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and mutual understanding,” he stated.
Nana Alloh commended the Oti Regional Coordinating Council, security agencies and other stakeholders for their efforts in maintaining relative calm and urged them to sustain their collaboration towards achieving lasting peace.
