Accra, Aug. 21, GNA – The Vote from Abroad Team in Ghana will organise a voter registration event to assist United States (US) citizens living in Ghana to register and request ballots for the 2026 US midterm elections.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at the Theia Coffee House in the Airport Residential Area, Accra, will begin at 1400 hours.
Trained voting assistants will be available to guide registrants through the overseas voting process, answer questions and assist participants to complete their online ballot request forms.
The organisers say the event is open to all US citizens in Ghana, irrespective of political party affiliation.
Those unable to attend physically would be able to participate online and receive the same assistance.
The initiative, according to the organisers, was aimed at registering at least 50 new overseas voters ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

“US citizens often don’t realise they can vote from overseas. We can, and our votes help determine the outcome of elections across the US,” Mr Lenny Baer, a volunteer with the Vote from Abroad Team in Ghana, said.
The initiative forms part of efforts by organisations supporting Americans living outside the United States to exercise their voting rights.
Democrats Abroad, the official arm of the Democratic Party representing Americans living outside the United States, works to help these citizens to participate in US elections, protect their voting rights and engage with US government officials on issues affecting them.
The organisation is a volunteer-run network with chapters across six continents and members.
The VoteFromAbroad.org platform provides US citizens living outside the country with information and tools to register and participate in elections.
