Yabiw (W/R), June 15, GNA – Nana Appiah Asankoma Katakranka IV, Chief of Yabiw community, in the Shama Municipality of the Western Region, has called on his people to remain united and support him to drive development in the area.
He said the community could only realise its development aspirations only when the residents lived in peace, unity and harmony with one another.
Speaking in an interview, at Yabiw, he expressed concern that the community lacked certain basic amenities like electricity, toilet facilities, water, lorry station, market and good roads among others.
Nana Katakranka IV said: “Our community lacks a lot of things. We do not have good roads, market, only one toilet facility, and even our school is facing infrastructural challenges, so we have a lot to do as a people to resolve all these issues.”
The Chief promised to lobby the Municipal Assembly and other development partners to help ensure that Yabiw community received its fair share of national development projects.
“As the chief of this community, I will work closely with the necessary institutions to bring development here, but we us as a people must also do is to unite and live in peace and harmony for us to realise this dream,” he added.
