No jubilation by fans at Adaklu Kodzobi despite Black Stars’ late win

Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), June 18 GNA – The usual jubilation that normally characterized the victory of Ghana’s Black Stars in their matches was last night missing at Adaklu Kodzobi in the Adaklu District though they defeated Panama by a lone goal.

It was not the scoreline that prevented the people from jubilating, but the lackadaisical attitude displayed by the players especially in the first half that was the cause.

Panama outplayed the Stars in all departments of the game in the first half.

Ms Mary Deh, a teacher and football enthusiast, told the GNA that the score was not a true reflection of the game, adding “it was a divine intervention to prevent us from humiliation.”

She stated that if “our players will continue playing the way they played yesterday, it is likely they will not get past the group stage.”

A youngster who identified himself as Robert said the coach should have pull out Jordan Ayew immediately after the first half adding “Jordan should work on his weight.”

He criticized the coach for relying too much on Jordan saying tactically he should be brought in in the second half.

Robert noted that but for the goalkeeper, Panama would seal in the first half.

Caleb Yirenkyi scored a late winner for Ghana in the 95th minute.
