Anloga (V/R), June 18, GNA-African Talent Elite, a football development organisation affiliated with Spanish club Real Sociedad, would organise a two-day Football Scouting Tournament on June 20-21, at Anseco Park.

The tournament, themed “Showcase Your Talent”, would run from 0800 hours each day and target players in the Under-15 and Under-17 age categories which is expected to offer a structured platform for early talent identification in the Anloga District of the Volta Region.

Mr Theophilus Mensah, the Organiser, announced that the registration for the programme was completely free to make the event accessible to talented young footballers from all economic backgrounds who aspire to play at continental and global levels.

“All participants will pay a form fee of GHS50 to formalise entry. That will cover administrative expenses to keep participation barriers low for maximum inclusion,” he said

He explained that the affiliation with Real Sociedad lends significant credibility, as the Basque club has a distinguished record of identifying and developing players who later represent top European clubs and national teams.

He said outstanding players who distinguish themselves during the two-day event would earn professional scouting opportunities through African Talent Elite’s network, including connections to Real Sociedad and other partner clubs.

“The focus on Under-15 and Under-17 brackets reflects a deliberate strategy to catch talent at a formative stage, proper exposure, training, and mentorship will help transform their promising careers.”

Some football stakeholders within the Anloga District who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, welcomed the initiative, and stated that the move would fill a critical gap in the country’s ecosystem where thousands of gifted young players lack platforms to display abilities before credible scouts.

The choice of Anseco Park as a venue is expected to provide a suitable environment for all, while organisers urged parents, guardians, coaches, and community clubs to present their best talents in under 15 and 17.

He urged all participants to bring along their birth certificate or national identification card for proper verification of their real ages during the exercise.

The African Talent Elite’s partnership with Real Sociedad also underscored a growing trend of European clubs establishing formal talent pipelines in Africa to tap the continent’s reservoir of raw football talent.

Ghana News Agency believed that the scouting tournament would also offer grassroots clubs visibility, as performances would be assessed by technical teams and scouts using professional standards of organisation and player evaluation.

Interested players, parents, and coaches were encouraged to contact organisers on 0593154484 for registration details and eligibility requirements, with the slots expected to fill quickly ahead of the event.
