Dambai (O/R), June 9, GNA – The Nkwanta North District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Kudjoe Isaiah Dordoe, has commissioned a newly completed three-unit JHS classroom block at Ubunja to improve access to quality education and create a better teaching and learning environment,
The commissioning ceremony was performed on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkwanta North, Mr John Oti Bless.
The event was attended by members of the Nkwanta North District Assembly, traditional leaders, education stakeholders, teachers, pupils, and community members.
The facility, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), comprises three classrooms, an office, a store, and other ancillary facilities designed to support effective academic work.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Dordoe said the project formed part of the government’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for teaching and learning across the district.
He urged residents of Ubunja to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance to enable future generations to benefit from the investment.
“This facility belongs to the people of Ubunja. It is therefore important that the community protects and maintains it to ensure its longevity and continued use by pupils,” he stated.
Mr Dordoe also commended the contractor, Mr Silas of Detag Ltd, for the quality execution and timely completion of the project. Assembly members and other stakeholders praised the workmanship and adherence to approved specifications.
Community members, teachers, and pupils expressed gratitude to the government, the District Assembly, and all stakeholders involved in the project, describing the facility as a major boost to education in the area.
The new classroom block is expected to ease congestion, improve learning conditions, and contribute to better educational outcomes for pupils in Ubunja and surrounding communities.


Mr Dickson Bansah, the District Director of Education for Nkwanta North, also commended the District Assembly for its commitment to improving educational infrastructure through the construction of the three-unit JHS classroom block.
He noted that the additional classroom facility would significantly enhance teaching and learning in the area by reducing congestion in existing classrooms and providing a more conducive environment for both students and teachers.
Mr Bansah said the Assembly’s investment in education demonstrated its dedication to ensuring that children in the district have access to quality education.
He expressed optimism that the new facility, together with the existing classroom blocks, would help improve academic performance and encourage school enrolment and retention among learners.
He further urged teachers, students, and community members to take good care of the facility to ensure its longevity and continued benefit to future generations.
