Acherensua, (Ahafo), June 8, GNA – Madam Josephine Bayerh, the Deputy District Manager at the Bechem office of the Forestry Commission has urged Ghanaians to plant and nurture trees to help mitigate climate change impact in the country.

She emphasised that tree planting and nurturing remained the surest practical way for climate change mitigation action.

She said environmental sustainability remained a collective responsibility and urged everybody to plant, own and nurture trees for now and future benefits.

Madam Bayerh said that increased tree plantation was a stronger environmental protection measure against climate change and called on the people to support in the fight against illegal logging and lumbering in forest reserves in the area.
