Nkroful (W/R), June 12, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, has commissioned an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block for the Nkroful Agricultural, Technical Senior High School (NASS).

The project followed an appeal by the management of the school to the MP to address its infrastructural deficits.

Mr Armah-Kofi Buah, an old student of the school and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said he had been working hard to upgrade facilities in the school because it remained one of the best in the country.

“Every beautiful thing in the school such as an asphaltic road, Assembly Hall, classroom blocks, water tank, masters’ bungalow among others, came because an old student like me once came to the school.”

He noted that the values of hard work, integrity and service instilled in him by the school had prepared him to serve diligently in public life.

Mr Buah pledged to construct an additional 12-unit classroom block to support the school’s transition to a single-track system.

He also assured the school of completing the stalled GNPC Girls’ Dormitory project for use.

The MP commended the school authorities for introducing technical and vocational training programmes to equip students with employable skills and donated 20 sewing machines to the department.

He further promised to provide a new pick-up vehicle to replace the school’s old one and gave assurance that a new office complex would be constructed for the District Education Directorate.

Earlier, Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay, Headmaster of the school, commended the MP for his continuous support and interventions.

He said NASS was the only school in the Nzema area still operating the double-track system due to inadequate infrastructure, placing a heavy workload on staff.

Despite the challenges, the school continued to record successes in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), he added.

Mr Blay appealed to the MP to assist with the construction of another 12-unit classroom block to facilitate the planned transition to a single-track system by September 2026.

He also appealed for a dedicated electrical transformer and support to upgrade the school’s status from Grade C to Grade A.

Additionally, he called for the employment of cooks, labourers and security personnel to replace retired staff.

Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, expressed gratitude to the MP and MacWest Construction Limited for completing the project within one year.

He described education as the foundation for community development and a critical tool for bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.

Mr Agyekum said the new classroom block would remove a major barrier to quality education and urged students to aspire to greater heights.

Mr Wilfred Katey Adodoadji, District Director of Education, commended the MP for his commitment to improving education delivery and appealed for additional infrastructure to help the school fully transition to a single-track system this year.

He noted that both the Ghana Education Service office and some schools in the district lacked pick-up vehicles and appealed for support.

He further appealed for the construction of a one-storey office complex for the Ellembelle District Education Directorate.

Nana Kwasi Kutua V, Divisional Chief of Nkroful, lauded the MP for his development efforts in the constituency.

He reiterated the need for a district hospital at Nkroful to cater for the healthcare needs of students and residents in the area.

Nana Kwasi advised students to uphold the school’s motto of knowledge, integrity and service as they prepared for the future.
