Mansopa, (Ahafo), May 22, GNA-Some farming communities in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region have Mr Charles Akwasi Asiedu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area for extending electricity to those communities.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the area, the community members said they were excited to be connected to the national electricity grid and inspired the MP to do more to address their development needs.
“I will use this opportunity to thank our MP for remembering the communities and providing us with the electricity”, Mr Kwaku Solomon, a youth leader at Asukese stated, saying that the previous administration promised but failed to extend electricity to the community.
At Mansopa, the community members also called on the MP to reshape the deplorable condition of roads in the area to facilitate their movements and economic activities.
Mr Asiedu later told the GNA that so far, he had connected 11 communities to the national grid under his rural electrification projects.
They comprise Mansopa, Asukesu, Mawaniso, Asouboye, Bofoaka and other farming communities.
Mr Asiedu pledged his dedication to ensuring that all the local communities had electricity to open the area, create job opportunities, boost economic activities, and enhance the livelihoods of the locals.
