Ve-Golokuati (V/R), May 30, GNA – A road accident at Ve-Golokuati in the Afadzato South District in the Volta Region involving two Hyundai vehicles left many injured.
The incident which happened at about 1200 hours in front of the Frontier filling Station close to the Police Barrier involved a Hyundai Grace vehicle with registration number GW 6438 Z and a Hyundai Tucson with DV registration number DVF 7880.
Initial reports indicated that the Hyundai Grace vehicle was travelling from Hohoe and the Hyundai Tucson in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Hyundai Grace, who gave his name Yaw, said the Hyundai Tucson vehicle was off his lane and attempts to horn severally failed.
He said the driver then hit his vehicle, forcing it to veer off the road injuring his passengers.
Inspector Felix Kwao, Public Relations Officer, Volta North Regional Police Command told the Ghana News Agency that upon receipt of the information, Police proceeded to the scene and met the two accident vehicles extensively damaged.
He said 11 Passengers were on board both cars; five got seriously injured and were promptly conveyed to the Golokwati Clinic for medical treatment.
Inspector Kwao advised drivers and road users to observe road safety regulations and practice defensive driving when plying a road.
