Dambai (O/R), May 16, GNA – The All Regional Queenmothers Association has expressed support for Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings following her election to the Pan-African Parliament.
A delegation of queenmothers from across the country, led by the Association’s President, Nana Otubea II, Paramount queenmother of the Nkonya Traditional Area, paid a courtesy call on Dr Agyeman-Rawlings at Parliament House to congratulate her and present a citation in recognition of her achievement.
Speaking during the visit, Nana Otubea II described Dr Agyeman-Rawlings’ elevation to the continental body as a milestone for Ghanaian women and traditional leadership.
She expressed confidence in the legislator’s ability to advance the interests of Ghana and Africa, particularly on issues affecting women, children and community development.
The queenmothers noted that traditional leaders across the regions had followed her parliamentary work and commended her commitment to public service.
They also pledged their continued support as she assumes her new continental responsibility.
Receiving the delegation, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings thanked the queenmothers for the honour and confidence reposed in her.
She said the support of traditional authorities and women leaders remained essential in strengthening the link between grassroots communities and national policy.
“I am honoured by this recognition. Your role as custodians of culture and community makes your support very significant. I will carry your voices and concerns to the Pan-African Parliament and work to ensure that Ghana’s interests are well represented,” she added.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings was elected to the Pan-African Parliament earlier this year and is expected to contribute to the body’s legislative and oversight responsibilities across the continent.
The visit highlighted the growing collaboration between traditional authorities and elected officials in promoting national unity, women’s participation in governance, and sustainable development.
In a related development, the queenmothers also paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, where they presented him with a citation and words of encouragement.
The Association commended the Minister for his dedication to national service and commitment to the welfare of Ghanaians.

Mr Ablakwa expressed gratitude to the queenmothers for the honour, describing the gesture as deeply touching and one he would cherish.
“I am most grateful to the All Regional Queenmothers Association for the honour you have done. I shall cherish their citation and wise words of encouragement. I am truly touched by their surprise visit and motherly warmth,” he said.
The All Regional Queenmothers Association is a national body that brings together traditional female leaders from across Ghana to promote culture, community welfare and women’s participation in development.
