Tema, May 27, GNA – The Tema North District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has extended warm fraternal greetings and expressed solidarity with the Muslim community on the occasion of the 2026 Eid al‑Adha celebrations.
In a message signed by Reverend Emmanuel Obeng Ntow, the PCG Tema North District Minister, the Church said it joined the Muslim community in celebrating the profound festival of sacrifice, obedience and faith.
The statement noted that the occasion offered an opportunity to reflect on a shared Abrahamic heritage, adding that the unwavering obedience of Prophet Ibrahim remained a timeless example for all believers.
It explained that the celebration served as a reminder of humanity’s ultimate accountability to God and the need for selflessness towards one another.
The Church further indicated that Ghana’s diverse religious landscape was a source of national strength, in line with its commitment to ecumenical partnership and social development.
It emphasised that the country’s long-standing tradition of peaceful coexistence was a valuable asset that must be safeguarded and nurtured through collective effort.
The statement said true worship was reflected in how society cared for the vulnerable, adding that the Church stood with the Muslim community in a shared mission to combat poverty, promote justice and address systemic inequalities.
It also called for efforts to foster peace and uphold national stability.
The Church prayed that the Almighty God would accept the prayers, sacrifices and acts of charity of Muslims, and grant them divine favour, joy and prosperity.
It further urged citizens to renew their commitment to building a more equitable, peaceful and prosperous Ghana.
