Hohoe (V/R), May 26, GNA-The Hohoe Municipal Assembly has engaged key stakeholders to discuss implementation details on the Municipality’s 24-Hour Economy Market set to take off soon.
The project, which is being undertaken nationwide as part of President John Dramani Mahama’s ongoing “Resetting Agenda” is expected to be completed in 30 months at the cost of GH₵31,504,272.80.
When completed, the facility will have pharmacy, gym, technology hubs, storage rooms, police station, fire post, clinic, creche, restaurant, supermarket, shops, meat market, women’s bank, warehouse and other key amenities to support round-the-clock commercial activities.
Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the Municipality was a viable zone for its share of the project and its completion would impact all and affect many livelihoods positively.
He said the project would enhance the total business development of the Municipality, which would result in an advantage for all as well as have an effect on already existing projects by serving their needs.
Mr Kumi noted that throughout the construction period, some measures including creating a one-way traffic and relocating affected market women would create discomfort, but all must bear with the Assembly adding that adequate measures would be in place to resolve any of such issues that might arise.
He expressed gratitude to the President for the project and to the stakeholders including leadership of the Gbi Traditional Area, landowners and market women for their support towards the success of the Market project.
Mr Kumi urged stakeholders to ensure that they sought clarification on anything regarding the project and participate in site meetings on the project.
Mr Love Nyanyui, Engineer, PPMC International Limited, assured the stakeholders that in engaging workers under the project, ‘local content’ would be prioritised adding that it would be the expectation that those engaged become diligent in carrying out their duties.
He also noted that the project would also meet the expected deadline.
