Ho, May 2, GNA – The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana’s (EPCG) 175th Anniversary Hall and Youth Resource Centre project has commenced at the Church’s headquarters in Ho.
Right Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. (Rtd) Bliss Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, on Friday led a team of top church hierarchy to inspect the project.
The Moderator described it as the “church’s most ambitious infrastructure initiative in recent history.”
He stated that the project marks a significant transition from blueprint to reality.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko said the facility was envisioned not just as a hall, but as a symbol of the Church’s commitment to future generations.
“It is designed to be a ‘cradle of excellence,’ featuring a 500-seat multi-purpose conference hall, digital media hubs, and vocational training suites,” he disclosed.
The Moderator indicated that the project would provide space for mentorship, Christian education, and professional skills development, serving both the Church’s 10,000 members and the wider Ho community.
He emphasised that the initiative responds to a gap in youth development and legacy building.
Describing it as a “legacy project,” he noted that it stands as a physical testament to nearly two centuries of the Church’s history.
He said although technical consultants had stressed the quality and safety of the work, the speed and completion of the project depended on “our collective support.”
Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko said the leadership of the Church had launched an international appeal to support the project and urged members and well-wishers to contribute financially to ensure its timely completion.
Looking ahead, he said the Centre had been designed with international broadcasting capabilities, positioning it as a hub for global youth leadership and policy development.
“Let us all ensure that this legacy project stands as a beacon of excellence for centuries to come,” the Moderator said.
