Accra, May 13, GNA- A witness has confirmed before an Accra High Court that she sent emails to Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) requesting transfers and withdrawals from various company accounts linked to the accused persons.
The Court hearing the criminal trial involving Mr Kwabena Adu-Boahene and others admitted bank statements into evidence as the witness continued her testimony under cross-examination.
The witness, Madam Donkor, a former Director, Advantage Solutions Limited, agreed with Mr Samuel Atta Akyea, counsel for the accused persons, that the transactions she undertook were openly conducted and could easily be verified by bank officials.
She further confirmed that she regularly followed up on withdrawals and transfers on the accounts and could identify transactions on bank statements corresponding with emails and letters sent to UMB.
The witness identified a cheque and confirmed details including the account number, which the defence linked to a UMB bank statement tendered before the court.
Mr Atta Akyea told the court he intended to establish a connection between the cheque books already admitted in evidence and the corresponding bank statements.
At a point during proceedings, the trial judge directed defence counsel to streamline his line of questioning and indicated that if the matter was adjourned for continuation on the documents, further questioning would be limited to those exhibits.
Madam Donkor also confirmed that she worked on the accounts of Advantage Solutions Limited, where she served as a Director.
She identified bank statements relating to Advantage Solutions accounts, which were subsequently admitted into evidence by the court.
The witness testified that she also worked on accounts belonging to Vertex and Enterprise Dreams Collections, undertaking withdrawals, payments and transfers on those accounts.
The court admitted bank statements relating to Advantage Solutions, Securities, Vertex and Enterprise Dreams Collections into evidence, while one document tendered by the defence was rejected.
The case was adjourned to May 14, 2026.
