Accra, May 29, GNA – The Defence in the trial involving Mr. Kwabena Adu-Boahene and two others has tendered several email communications linked to cash withdrawals from accounts of Advantage Solutions Limited and its subsidiaries.
During further cross-examination of Madam Mildred Donkor, the third Prosecution Witness (PW3), Mr. Samuel Atta-Akyea questioned the witness on a series of withdrawal requests and bank transactions allegedly undertaken on instructions from the accused persons.
Counsel referred the witness to exhibits which he said were requests for withdrawals from accounts belonging to Advantage Solutions Limited and its subsidiaries in favour of Madam Edith Adumuah.
Madam Donkor told the court that not all the exhibits related to withdrawals by Madam Adumuah but admitted that some transactions were effected.
She confirmed that GH¢100,000 was withdrawn, while another GH¢1 million withdrawal was made on August 16, 2024.
The witness further said that such transactions would be reflected in the relevant bank statements generated by the banks.
Mr. Atta-Akyea then suggested to the witness that the total amount personally withdrawn by Madam Adumuah from accounts linked to BNC Communications Bureau Limited, Advantage Solutions Limited, and their subsidiaries amounted to GH¢22.8 million.
Madam Donkor responded that she could not confirm the total amount.
The witness also confirmed that on occasions when Madam Adumuah was unable to personally withdraw funds, one Mr. Stephen Arthur was authorised to do so on her behalf.
According to the witness, she was instructed to send emails to facilitate payments to Mr. Arthur.
Counsel subsequently presented a number of email communications showing instructions for payments to Mr. Arthur from accounts associated with Advantage Solutions Limited and its subsidiaries.
Madam Donkor admitted sending the emails and told the court that she acted on instructions from Mr. Adu-Boahene and his wife regarding persons to whom payments were to be made.
The prosecution did not object to the tendering of the email documents, and the court admitted the emails, including communications dated March 2, 2023, into evidence.
The witness also confirmed that the withdrawals undertaken by Mr. Arthur would equally appear in the relevant bank statements.
Mr. Atta-Akyea suggested to the witness that the total withdrawals made by Mr. Arthur from the accounts amounted to GH¢13.89 million, but the witness said she could not confirm the figure.
The Defence later referred the witness to four additional emails requesting payments to one Osei Tutu.
Madam Donkor confirmed that one of the emails was sent directly by her, while she was copied on the remaining three communications.
The Defence subsequently moved to tender the email documents into evidence.
The case has been adjourned to June 9, 10, and 11, 2026, for continuation of cross-examination.
