Ayanfuri (C/R), April 27, GNA – Medisite Services Ghana Limited in collaboration with Perseus Mining Ghana Limited (PMGL) have supplied medical equipment to facilities within their operational area to commentate the World Malaria Day.
The gesture forms part of their benevolent initiative to help eradicate the increased rate of malaria incidence in the Upper Denkyira West District.
Items donated included mosquito nets, gloves, hand sanitizers, mosquito repellents, mosquito sprays, and hospital kits, to Pentecost Hospital and the Methodist Church in Ayanfuri to improve healthcare delivery in the area.
According to PMGL, celebrating World Malaria Day was not just a day of awareness but a call to action to safeguard families, and renew their commitment to defeating malaria.
It said malaria was preventable and treatable but remained one leading cause of illness and loss of productivity across communities.
On behalf of the Company, Mr Amatus Niminye, the Mining and Technical Service Manager at PMGL, advised the public to adhere to protocol by sleeping under treated mosquito nets and keep their surroundings clean to curb the disease.
He called for continuous partnership between stakeholders in ensuring that the goal of achieving zero malaria was achieved.
Dr Pius Asigri, the Medical Operations and Quality Team Lead at MediSite Services Ghana Limited, in an interview, commended the media for its continuous partnership in promoting health education on malaria in Ghana.
Ghana joins the world to observe the 2026 World Malaria Day, under the theme: âDriven to End Malaria; Now We Can, Now We Must,â
He called for strengthened public education and collective efforts to eliminate the disease.
Dr. Asigri urged the media to sustain and intensify its educational campaigns, emphasizing that malaria is preventable and can be eliminated if the public strictly adheres to medical advice on prevention.


Meanwhile, Dr. Felix Larbi the Administrator of Pentecost Hospital, who received the items on behalf of the facility, expressed gratitude to MediSite Services Ghana Limited for the gesture.
He noted that malaria remains one of the most recorded diseases at the facility and urged the public to sleep under treated mosquito nets and maintain clean surroundings to help prevent the disease.
